Sohail Salman is an Associate at GSIS. Mr. Salman assists in managing the firm’s business operations and strategic communications initiatives. Mr. Salman holds a Masters in Strategic Communication from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Science from L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs at Virginia Commonwealth University, where his leadership skills were recognized through receipt of the U.S. Marine Corp Scholastic Excellence Award.
Prior to joining the GSIS team, Mr. Salman developed a brand strategy recommendation, including an overall communications plan for USA Today Sports - resulting in a double digit increase in website traffic. Mr. Salman also possesses international relations experience through his role at the U.S. Embassy in Dhaka, Bangladesh, where he developed briefings, key talking points and speeches for Ambassador James Moriarty. Additionally, Mr. Salman has traveled with U.S. Pacific Command on disaster assessment missions, providing data collection and translation support.
Mr. Salman is of Bangladeshi and Indian heritage, and a fluent speaker of Bangla, Hindi and Urdu. He is a part-time Lecturer at Columbia University’s School of Professional Studies.
