With over 33 years of experience in protective measures, Chris Grollnek is the industry leader in the field of Active Shooter Prevention. He brings a wealth of knowledge from his service in the United States Marine Corps, as a Law Enforcement Officer and in the Private Sector. He has also provided strategic advisory services to individuals and groups, ranging from international leaders to small business employees. His extensive experience and knowledge of Active Shooter Incidents and the solutions to prevent them has made Chris the most highly respected and sought-after resource within this field.
Following his experience as a responding officer in an Active Shooter Event in McKinney, Texas in 2010, Chris redirected his post-graduate studies and wrote his thesis on the phenomenon of active shooter events. Currently, Chris is one of the only security professionals in the country with both a master’s degree and personal experience with domestic terrorism and active shooter incidents, making his perspective truly unique.
Because of his extensive background with active shooter incidents and his passion to end this senseless violence, Chris founded the Active Shooter Prevention Project (ASPP) in 2020 with the goal of creating a multifaceted and proactive approach to solving the Active Shooter Crisis. Chris has succeeded in recruiting a comprehensive suite of technology solutions that when deployed together provide defense in depth to reduce the risk of an active shooter incident. Chris personally developed the ASPP Prevention, Response and Options (PRO) Model which uniquely focuses on preventing incidents before they occur not just responding to them. As Principal and Founder of the ASPP, LLC, Chris and his partners have worked to establish a new National Standard of Active Shooter Prevention, which has been adopted by the Department of Justice.
