Hayden Gilmore is an Analyst at GSIS. Mr. Gilmore graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of South Florida with degrees in International Affairs and Russian Studies. While completing his degrees, Mr. Gilmore spent time studying in Moscow at Moscow State University and completed his thesis on privacy through the use of electronics. Throughout his studies, Mr. Gilmore focused on U.S.-Russia relations, Russian foreign policy and the post-Soviet space.
Prior to joining GSIS, Mr. Gilmore was an independent researcher and provided contracted research to the Russia and Ukraine Program and Defense Technology Program at the American Foreign Policy Council and Central Asia-Caucasus Institute. During this time, his primary areas of research included Russian involvement in Ukraine and Africa and the future development of hypersonic weapons.
Mr. Gilmore has been published in The Hill, the National Interest and the Central Asia-Caucasus Analyst. He also contributed to AFPC President Herman Pirchner’s book “Post-Putin: Succession, Stability, and Russia’s Future”. Mr. Gilmore is a volunteer soccer coach for D.C. Stoddert Soccer.
