Cyber Consultant and Chief Information Security Officer
Steven Harvey is the Cybersecurity Consultant at GSIS. Mr. Harvey oversees capability development and assists with the creation, implementation, and management of cybersecurity solutions. Mr. Harvey holds the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Certification from (ISC)2, Security + from CompTIA, as well as a variety of other certifications from the United States Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency. Mr. Harvey graduated Cum Laude from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, AZ with a Bachelor of Science in Cyber Intelligence and Security. While attending Embry Riddle, Mr. Harvey interned with the Missile Defense Agency and the National Security Agency (NSA) working cybersecurity missions.
Prior to joining the GSIS team, Mr. Harvey worked for the United States Intelligence Community working national security cyber on NSA’s Blue Team. He worked jointly with FBI and other intelligence agencies to help protect the United States from cyber adversaries. In the private sector, Mr. Harvey served as a cybersecurity consultant for financial, technology, and energy companies. After conducting strategic vulnerability assessments, Mr. Harvey directed the implementation of cybersecurity best practices. He also has extensive experience in mitigating network vulnerabilities by providing prioritized recommendations which harden and defend client assets.
During his time with the United States Intelligence Community, Mr. Harvey worked with Advanced Network Operations (ANO) leveraging unique authorities, state of the art technology and unparalleled expertise. ANO leads the community in pursing the “unknown unknowns”. Mr. Harvey has been recognized for his research contributing to Network Device Integrity methodologies.
Mr. Harvey is an active member of (ISC)2, the Arizona Cyber Threat Response Alliance (ACTRA), and FBI InfraGard.
