Trade Facilitation and Border Security

Providing Border Security Assessments and Strategies and Enhancing Trade Efficiency

GSIS supports one of the most active trade ports of entry along our nation’s border with Mexico. Our work with the bridge authority has resulted in immediate and long term actions designed to increase trade based revenues and enhance the port’s security posture.

GSIS assessed the complex, multi-agency, domestic, and international requirements necessary to successfully implement redesign of the port to increase and facilitate trade. We provided design support on infrastructure protection, supply chain security, and logistics to increase traffic resulting from energy reform in Mexico, new highway infrastructure connecting Mexico and Texas, and increased agricultural imports. Over the past year, the GSIS team has also advised this high profile port on equipment, personnel, and resource requirements to incorporate into progressive expansion.
